Painting from a photo online

I was thinking about a Christmas gift for my grand dad. I had an idea to create a painting-like-picture from a photo of his dog. I would even pay for it if it looked really good (the style, frame etc.) and they would ship it to me. Unfortunately, nothing I found looked beautiful enough to me.
