That's true. But the brain doesn't have the database of all cool gifts. You cannot choose something you don't know it exists.

ok! so would that mean that the point of the service would sort of be to provide a "list" of "cool gifts" with respect to his/her hobbies or fb activity? that sounds actually pretty good. if the realization can solve the very subjective degree of what is a "cool gifts" (e.g. by adding filtrer such as "geeky", "posh", "snob", "natural" etc. for different personalities) that might be quite useful service. how would it make money?

Maybe you can charge online shops to list items into the app.
